Rapid Rooster is not your typical pheasant farm. We are located next to the best shooting complex in the Midwest and aim to provide more than a hunt—we want to create an unforgettable full-day experience.

A Typical Day

Our day usually begins at the shooting complex with bunker trap or sporting clays (fun or competition), followed by lunch, and an afternoon pheasant hunt.

Customizable Experiences

Each event can be tailored to your group. Options include:

• Long-range rifle shooting
• Pistol tactical shot
• Rim-fire steel course shoot
• Prairie dog hunting

Large groups can be split, with part hunting pheasants in the morning and others in the afternoon.

Season & Limits

2025–2026 Season: Oct. 18 – Jan. 31, 2026 (3 pheasants per hunter daily).

Preserve License: Starting Sept. 1, 2026, season runs through March 2027 with a daily limit of up to 20 birds.

Pricing may be adjusted based on bird limits.

Additional Hunting

Our hunting area provides excellent cover. Pheasants are released prior to hunts. Grouse and partridge are native to the ranch and may be taken according to state limits at no extra charge.

Pricing

We don’t sell pheasant hunts, we sell pheasants.
$50 per bird with a minimum of 25 birds per day.

Our Location

Rapid Rooster operates on a 3,000-acre private ranch adjacent to the Pete Lien Sports Shooting Complex.
The complex offers free rifle and pistol shooting. Clay pigeon, tactical, or long-range courses require a $100 yearly membership (covered when you book a group event).
Firearms (rifles, pistols, and shotguns) are provided at no cost for group bookings.
